Through this website, the Institute is making available the full texts of corporate governance codes, principles of corporate governance and corporate governance reforms both in Europe and elsewhere.
Helping countries improve the standards of governance for their corporations, by fostering the spirit of enterprise and accountability, promoting fairness, transparency and responsibility. The Global Corporate Governance Forum is sponsored by the governments of India, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the World Bank Group.
Since 1995 the Corporate Governance site has provided news, internet links, and a small reference library. Corporate Governance serves as a discussion forum and network for shareholders and stakeholders who believe active participation by concerned shareholders in governing corporations will enhance their ability to create wealth.
The OECD groups 30 member countries sharing a commitment to democratic government and the market economy. With active relationships with some 70 other countries, NGOs and civil society, it has a global reach. Best known for its publications and its statistics, its work covers economic and social issues from macroeconomics, to trade, education, development and science and innovation.
The OECD plays a prominent role in fostering good governance in the public service and in corporate activity. It helps governments to ensure the responsiveness of key economic areas with sectoral monitoring. By deciphering emerging issues and identifying policies that work, it helps policy-makers adopt strategic orientations.
